How long have you been in business?
Portrait Shoppe has been creating beautiful images and preserving special memories for over 30 years, but remaining fresh through education and evolving staff and practices
What is your primary product or service?
We provide photography and video for Weddings, Communions, Mitzvahs, all Corporate and Family events, Fine Portraiture, Products, Modeling, Business - Acting and Social Profile Headshots. We produce the best passport photos anywhere!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My first camera was a kodak hawkeye instamatic in 1965 and I have been taking photos ever since, from the bottom of the oceans to the top of volcanoes, and from maternity and new born to 85th birthdays. I studied photography at Florida Institute of Technology and continue to study with courses from the best photographers in the country and internationally.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We provide the highest levels of creativity and service at moderate prices, providing exceptional value for our customers. All work is either completed or overseen by the owner,award winning photographer Alex M Wolff. For albums, we include 1 hour initial design consultations and 30 minute enhancement reviews, ensuring your work is made to your style.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our studio is on Old Country Road in Hicksville but we shoot on location all over Long Island and NYC, and meet with clients weekdays in NYC and on Long Island. Our portable studio lights enable us to bring exceptional results in your home, parks, or other locations, including destination weddings.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are 2 doors west of Broadway (rt 107) Hicksville, on Old Country Road. We have a huge parking lot so coming in is always hassle free. We are frequently on location so appointments (516 938 3936) are necessary.
What type of payments do you accept?
Checks are preferred but can accept credit cards and paypal.
Which areas do you service?
All of Long Island and NYC.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Alex M Wolff is the owner, operator, main photographer and album designer. Alex is an award winning photographer and mentor to other photographers in photography and photoshop.
What are your hours of operation?
We are flexible and meet with all clients by appointment.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
There are a few I love to hear - it was a pleasure to work with you and I will use you again and refer you to everyone I know. My other favorite is There were so many great photos it was hard to narrow down the selection.
