The Pingry School was founded in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in 1861 to educate sons of local residents, to instill in them moral values, and to prepare them for higher education. Today, Pingry is a vibrant, coeducational K-12 college prepatory day school.
Together, our two campuses in Short Hills (K-6) and Martinsville (7-12) serve approximately 1,000 students. Students participate in a demanding college prepatory program, complemented by extensive co-curricular opportunities.
Pingry is a diverse community joined by a single vision. All members of the Pingry community, including trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni contribute to the school in many different ways, but share a unified and consistent commitment to Pingry’s mission. The core of this commitment and the link between Pingry’s past and future is John Pingry’s founding motto: “Greatest respect is due students.”
