KALLEN & LEMELSON, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, LLP, was established in 1957 to offer professional engineering services for the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. These services have been and continue to be provided for a wide range of applications including institutional and commercial facilities.
The firm was acquired in 1997 from the founding partners and is wholly owned by Richard Meilan, P.E.,LEED AP and Steven J. DiFlora, P.E,LEED AP. The new leadership continues with the philosophy of delivering quality service while adding new insights to ensure client satisfaction which is essential in today's highly competitive business environment. Kallen & Lemelson is headquartered in midtown Manhattan, New York.

At K&L our 50+ years of experience in the design of new and retrofit HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems our design experience and our depth of understanding of the regions construction business is complemented by our analytical capabilities and our long-term experience with energy conservation in buildings and in Green/Sustainable Building design.
We are currently providing Technical Assistance services to NYSERDA for the FlexTech Program, and for the NYSERDA New Construction Program and are active as members of the design team for seven (7) projects having achieved or are seeking LEED certification. The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Center for Global Conservation at the Bronx Zoo, the Burchfield Penney Museum at Buffalo State University, West End 2000, New Rochelle, NY, the Lion House at the Bronx Zoo, 250 West Street, NY, The Resort at Berry’s Creek, NJ and the Rivers and Estuaries Center, Beacon, NY) and for numerous projects utilizing LEED® guidelines for Green Design and/or complying with NYS Executive Order 111 and NYC Local Law 86.
We provide our clients with LEED® accredited professionals within our medium size consulting engineering firm, which is large enough to respond quickly the needs of our clients,yet small enough to provide the attention and principal involvement required to ensure that all projects are performed efficiently and effectively.
